Sara Nelson, editorial director for Amazon Books and Kindle, is joining HarperCollins as vice president, executive editor and senior adviser, reporting to Publisher Jonathan Burnham.

“I’ll be acquiring fiction and non-fiction, but the reality is my heart is in fiction and memoirs,” said Nelson, who spent four years at Amazon and another four years as the book editor at O, The Oprah Magazine. She was a reporter and columnist at the New York Post prior.

HarperCollins is owned by News Corp., which also owns The Post.
