A former Epix executive has been sentenced to more than four years in prison after being found guilty of running a phony-invoice scheme.
Emil Rensing, who served as Epix’s chief digital officer from 2010 to 2015, was ordered to repay the premium cable TV station $7.8 million.
The 51-month sentence was handed down by Manhattan federal court Judge Victor Marrero on Friday.
Rensing’s scam involved him contracting for digital media service with vendors that he clandestinely owned — and then using false and stolen identities to cover his trail, prosecutors said.
Epix, which is owned by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, was not named in the complaint.
Rensing, 44, pleaded guilty to a single count of wire fraud in June 2017.
He is scheduled to surrender to prison authorities on Sept. 10.
