Two media executives pushed from their jobs this week had their landings softened by some highly buffed golden parachutes.

Ex-Tribune Chief Executive Jack Griffin will walk away with about $2.1 million, including $2 million in cash spread out over the next 12 months, according to a regulatory filing.

That’s twice his annual salary.

Griffin, who had a year remaining on his three-year deal, will also pocket restricted stock units believed to be worth $135,000.

That “reflects the amount of the cash payment to which Ms. DeMarse would have been entitled under her existing amended and restated severance agreement with the company had she been terminated without cause,” according to the filing.
