Jerry TallmerGetty ImagesJerry Tallmer, who was a New York Post arts critic, editor and writer from 1962 to 1993, died Sunday.
He was 93.
The New York City native and World War II veteran was also a founding editor of the Village Voice, where he created off-Broadway’s Obie Awards.
He is survived by his wife, Frances, and two children.
A World War II veteran, Tallmer witnessed the atomic mushroom cloud over Nagasaki from an Army Air Force plane in flight that day — he would write about it in The Post.
Tallmer is survived by his wife, Frances, his son Matthew and daughter Abby, who are twins.
