Gayle King remained tight-lipped Friday about rumors she’s set to leave “CBS Mornings” after a decade-long stint – as she was spotted leaving her New York City apartment just hours after the shock reports surfaced.

The veteran news anchor donned huge sunglasses as she quietly emerged from her Upper West Side building before sunrise and headed off to CBS’s studios, The Post’s exclusive photos show.

In the hours that followed, the 70-year-old made zero mention of her own news as she opened the show she’s fronted for more than a decade.

The early morning sighting came after sources told Variety late Thursday that King — who joined CBS News as a host in 2011 — was eying stepping down from her current hosting gig amid a major overhaul under the network’s new Editor-in-Chief, Bari Weiss.

The morning show mainstay could potentially shift to a different role within the network, the sources said.

CBS quickly denied there had been discussions with King about her future at the network.

“There have been no discussions with Gayle about her contract that runs through May 2026,” a CBS spokesperson told The Post following the surprising news of King’s potential departure.

“She’s a truly valued part of CBS, and we look forward to engaging with her about the future.”

A source familiar with the situation told The Post that King hasn’t made any clear career plans and that nothing is set in stone.

King’s rep hasn’t addressed the rumors.

Speculation about how much time King had left with the network began swirling last May when insiders suggested her $10 million salary was too high to justify the show’s poor ratings.

The talk has only ramped up amid the ongoing shakeup unfolding at CBS.

So far, the major overhaul has produced extensive budget cuts, the cancellation of two streaming shows and roughly 100 layoffs — including eight on-air correspondents and hosts.

It comes, too, as Paramount — CBS’s new parent company–– officially recently initiated the first batch of roughly 2,000 layoffs that insiders had been warning about for weeks amid its $8.4 billion merger with Skydance Media.
