MS NOW host Joe Scarborough bashed President Trump’s State of the Union address, saying in an unhinged rant that the only “extraordinary” part of the speech was Trump doing “s–t that no sane president would ever do.”

The president was also accused of lying about immigration, the economy and the results of the 2020 election during the opening of Wednesday’s “Morning Joe.”

“There was a broadcaster that said, ‘The speech was extraordinary,’” Scarborough said, using a nasally tone to mock an unnamed conservative newsperson.

“Yes, it was extraordinary. It was extraordinary for many reasons, most of them just s–t that no sane president would ever do.”

The conservative congressman-turned-lefty television host tore into Trump’s “unrelenting bigotry, the lies, the attacking of one group specifically, the Somalis.”

During the longest-ever State of the Union address Tuesday night, Trump announced a “war on fraud” to be led by Vice President JD Vance — mentioning the welfare fraud scandal in Minnesota that he linked to the local Somali community, calling them “pirates.”

Trump also delved into gory, detailed descriptions of violent attacks by people who were in the country illegally, as some of the family members of those victims were seated in the audience.

“I’m not gonna talk about facism or Nazism. Just read history and see what type of regimes will pick one or two groups and blame all of America’s ills on those groups. That’s one of the things that the president did,” Scarborough raved.

“It’s un-American, it goes against what the Republican Party has always stood for, it’s gone against what Ronald Reagan stood for,” he added.

“It is a continued lie by this Republican Party and they know they’re lying when they continue to suggest that immigrants commit crimes at a higher rate than those who are native-born Americans.”

The MS NOW anchor said there are several studies that have found there is no link between undocumented immigrants and elevated levels of crime.

A recent study from the National Institute of Justice analyzing Texas criminal records from 2012 to 2018 found that undocumented immigrants had the lowest offending rates for felony crime and violent felony crime compared to other groups.

“Speaking of lies … Donald Trump is lying when he’s saying the price of meat is going down, the price of groceries are going down,” Scarborough said.

“They know he’s lying when he says that he inherited inflation at 9%. No! He inherited inflation at about the same rate that it’s at right now when Joe Biden left office.”

In January 2025, when Trump took office for his second term, the Consumer Price Index was up 3% over the past 12 months, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

It slowed last month to 2.4%, its tamest pace since May 2025, according to the government data.

Meanwhile, prices are still high on many grocery items, particularly beef and veal.

Scarborough’s tirade touched on Vance, too.

“The idea that you’re going to have JD Vance going to investigate waste and fraud and abuse and corruption when his family — Donald Trump’s family — has made at least $1.9 to $2 trillion personally since he came into office,” the host ranted.

He added that he has always been in favor of a ban on insider stock trading among members of Congress, a policy Trump announced Tuesday night — but argued that you could “add up right now all the money to be made and it doesn’t even come close to the amount of money that Donald Trump has made himself personally, put in his own pocket, over the past year.”

Scarborough wound down his ravings by tearing into Trump’s comments on the 2020 election results, saying: “It’s one thing for him to be doing it out on the campaign trail, lying day in, day out about election conspiracies … He keeps saying that every day and every day Democrats are winning.”
