Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski have renewed their contracts at MS NOW through the end of 2029 – just a week after their show “Morning Joe” was trimmed by an hour, The Post has learned.

It’s an apparent vote of confidence from network chief Rebecca Kutler in the pair, who are two of the longest-serving cable news co-hosts in history and a bright spot in terms of audience and revenue among the network’s beleaguered news programming.

“Four more years! – as they say at conventions,” Scarborough told Axios, which earlier reported the contract renewals. “Mika and I are excited to be staying with our ‘Morning Joe’ family and friends who have been watching regularly for almost 20 years.”

As “Morning Joe” enters its 20th year on-air, the political morning show – whose hosts often bash the Trump administration – has also branched off with its own newsletter helmed by Scarborough and a podcast.

“Joe and Mika have created something that cannot be replicated,” Kutler told Axios. “As we build towards the 2026 midterms and 2028 presidential election, ‘Morning Joe’ will continue to be a singular destination for presidents and newsmakers from all political parties.”

Despite notching its most-watched month in February since the 2024 presidential election, the network – previously known as MSNBC – announced last week it is returning “Morning Joe” to a three-hour format, from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. ET, down from its current four-hour time slot.

MS NOW said the show has seen success in the 9 a.m. hour, with viewership rising 24% over the past 12 months and up 64% in the key advertising demo – but Scarborough and Brzezinski have long wanted to cut back.

“To be honest, I think before the election, there was a lot of discussion that we were having about maybe slowing down or figuring out when ‘Morning Joe’ comes to an end,” Brzezinski said during an MSLIVE event last October.

“Because the hours — we are live from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. It’s four hours every day and it’s very heavy news,” said Brzezinski, who faced heated backlash from lefty viewers along with her husband and co-anchor Scarborough for visiting President Trump at Mar-a-Lago last year.

Kutler last week also announced a major shake-up of the network including changes for anchors and reporters including Ali Velshi, Stephanie Ruhle, Jacob Soboroff, Luke Russert, Alicia Menendez and Chris Jansing in the first programming overhaul since MS NOW moved under Versant after a Comcast spin-off.

Last month, the network averaged 1.4 million primetime viewers, and it has seen improvement in its weekly coverage under Kutler – including a 30% jump in total viewers for “The Weeknight.”

But daytime weekday coverage at MS NOW remains weak, and the lefty cable network is far behind rival Fox News in the ratings race — after the conservative channel averaged 35% more total day viewers in February than CNN and MS NOW combined, according to Nielsen data.

The network is also rushing to fill its ranks, adding hundreds of roles to the company, since it is no longer able to lean on NBC News’ newsgathering services after its split. Parent company Versant is recruiting for hundreds more roles across the organization, according to MS NOW.

“Morning Joe” has been lauded by MS NOW as an outperformer at the network, consistently beating rival CNN programming in total viewers and the key advertising demo.

Its newsletter – The Tea, Spilled by Morning Joe – has racked up more than 116,000 free email subscribers since its launch last October, and the “Morning Joe” podcast is MS NOW’s most-downloaded daily audio podcast, according to the network.
