They are talking union at Law360.
More than 80 journalists — out of 130 — at the legal news site signed pledge cards calling for a vote to be held over whether to be represented by the NewsGuild of New York.
Guild president Peter Szekely is calling on Law360, a part of LexisNexis, which is owned by RELX Group, to voluntarily recognize the union without the formality of a ballot and begin negotiations to hammer out a contract.
Worker anger was fueled a year ago when a young reporter, Stephanie Russell-Kraft, jumped from Law360 to a better-paying job at Reuters, only to have Law360 seek to enforce a non-compete agreement.
Reuters promptly fired her.
