One of the former employees of Louise Blouin Media has started proceedings against the art house publishing company in Small Claims Court to recover unpaid commissions and salary.
Rochelle Stolzenberg, director of sales at Art+Auction, said she was originally owed $2,500 when she filed, but recently received a partial payment check for $1,200.
A hearing has been scheduled for Aug. 10. CEO Louise Blouin did not return a call seeking comment.
Virtually all full-time editorial people departed after the August issue was put to bed in June, sources tell Media Ink.
Freelancers in India are said to be writing much of the info for the Web site, Blouin Artinfo, with coordination from freelancers in London and Australia.
