Man of the World’s transition from a glossy high-end quarterly to digital-only apparently hit a few speed bumps.

Founder Alan Maleh — the apparel guru who owns the Gentry NYC store in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, reaped $38 million by selling his H.W. Carter name to children’s clothing brand, Carter — says he spent about $15 million of the proceeds on the quarterly magazine.

The last print edition was the fall 2016 issue. At least one contributor is said to be owed $4,000.

Maleh admits to some “cash flow problems, which we’ve been working to correct.”

The founder said that MOTW, edited by Chris Tennant — now an executive editor at Harper’s Bazaar — was modestly profitable in its final year but that the six-figure return was not worth the investment.

Maleh said he is launching MOTW as a fashion lifestyle Web site with a big e-commerce component. It will make its debut in June.

Roughly $10,000 to $15,000 is still owed to folks who worked on the magazine, he said.

They will be paid “probably in the next 60 days,” he said.
