Modern Luxury’s editorial director, Beth Weitzman, who was also serving as the interim editor-in-chief of the company’s Angeleno magazine in Los Angeles, is leaving on Oct. 1 and is being replaced by a returning alum, Stephanie Davis Smith.
Davis Smith is going to take over the corporate job next week, but not the editorship of the LA regional title. She had been at Modern Luxury earlier in her career, rising to editor-in-chief of The Atlantan before leaving two years ago. Most recently she had been EIC of business title Connect Meetings.
Modern Luxury CEO Michael Dickey is taking the opportunity to reorganize. The corporate fashion director, James Aguiar, and corporate creative director, Scott Glick, will now report directly to him while the editors will report to Davis Smith.
Weitzman is leaving to start a digital venture aimed at luxury travelers, she told Media Ink.
