The tasteless Kendall Jenner Pepsi ad that sparked outrage earlier this week could land the soda firm in hot water with cops, according to a report Friday.

The commercial features actors wearing knock-off San Francisco Police Department uniforms — but the department never gave the company permission to mimic its gear, TMZ.com reported.

The police department is working with a government attorney to find out if producers of the ad can be sued for using the logo, which the city considers proprietary, sources told the entertainment news site.

The fake on-set uniforms were decked out with police badges, nearly identical to real ones, reading “San Francisco Police” above an eagle with spread wings.

In the tone-deaf three-minute ad, Jenner ditches a photo shoot, joins a peaceful protest, and hands a cop a Pepsi.

But critics, including the daughter of Martin Luther King Jr., said the imagery is a tacky evocation of important civil rights protests.

Pepsi yanked the ad from the air, admitting it “missed the mark,” Wednesday.
