Univision on Tuesday confirmed what may have been the worst-kept secret in media: It wants to unload its Gizmodo Group and The Onion.

The Spanish-language network, which scrapped its plans to go public earlier this year, said Tuesday that it has “initiated a formal process to explore the sale of the [digital] assets.”

The portfolio includes websites Gizmodo, Jezebel, Deadspin, Lifehacker, Splinter, The Root, Kotaku, Earther, Jalopnik, The Onion, Clickhole, The A.V. Club and The Takeout.

The company said there is no guarantee any sale will take place.
