This is one retirement tour you don’t want to miss. Even at the age of 88, legendary broadcaster Vin Scully — the voice of the Dodgers since 1950 — hasn’t lost his fastball.
Here are three prime examples from the opening weeks of the season:
No. 13
On Thursday, Diamondbacks shortstop Nick Ahmed gave his team a 1-0 lead with an RBI single, which led to Scully’s commentary on Ahmed’s No. 13 jersey.

Roasting Ryan Howard
During a pitching change in a broadcast over the weekend, Scully pointed out that Howard, the Phillies slugger, tied Joe DiMaggio with 361 career home runs during some out-of-town action. He went on to compare the two players — and let’s just say Howard did not come out well.

Madison Bumgarner fable
In the fourth inning of Friday night’s Dodgers-Giants game, with Bumgarner on the mound, Scully recalled a story about the Giants ace killing a snake and saving a baby rabbit that was inside of the snake.
