Alex Rodriguez made his official return to Yankee Stadium on Monday, and even after a year away because of his Biogenesis suspension, he’s still the player fans can’t get enough of.

Rodriguez received the loudest reaction of any Yankee during pregame introductions. While boos certainly could be heard, there were far more cheers from the Bronx crowd.

The Bleacher Creatures didn’t forget him, including him on their roll call, a rare honor considering Rodriguez was the DH against the Blue Jays. Rodriguez acknowledged them from the dugout with a wave of his hat.

After a strong spring, Rodriguez was hitting seventh in the lineup in his first regular-season game since September 25, 2013.

Rodriguez walked in his first plate appearance — the first Yankees baserunner of the game — and then lined a single to right-center his second time up.
