Alex Rodriguez is in his customary No. 4 spot in the lineup, but not at his usual position in the field. Rodriguez was given a partial night off by Joe Girardi, and will be the Yankees’ designated hitter tonight against the Royals.

Ramiro Pena will hit ninth and take Rodriguez’s position at third base, and regular DH Lance Berkman will get the night off.
