Alex Rodriguez was not in the Yankeesâ listed starting lineup for tonightâs game against Detroit.
Rodriguez, slowed by a strained right quadriceps, was removed for a pinch hitter in the eighth inning of Monday nightâs 5-2 win at Cleveland. Rodriguez said he felt a âpullâ while running the bases.
âItâs hard for me not to play 100 percent,â Rodriguez said after the game. âThe key for me is to get healthy.â
The three-time AL MVP missed three games last week after injuring the leg, then returned for the four-game series at the Indians.
