MINNEAPOLIS — Alex Rodriguez was held out of the starting lineup Wednesday after fouling a ball off his left foot in his final at bat of Tuesday’s loss to the Twins.

“It stiffened up a little bit after game,” Rodriguez said Wednesday. “We’ll see how it goes. Hopefully, the swelling goes down.”

Rodriguez said he was going to ice the foot again and hoped to miss just one game, but made no guarantees. Manager Joe Girardi said no tests were scheduled.

The Yankees won the game, 8-2 and will now head to Toronto for four games.
