Alex Rodriguez will hit zero home runs this year, or nine fewer than his nephew had this weekend.

Joe Dunand — whose father, Joe Dunand Sr., is Rodriguez’s half-brother — accomplished an amazing feat this weekend at the Horizon National Tournament in Scottsdale, Ariz.  In five games for Miami’s Gulliver Prep, Dunand went 10-for-12 with nine home runs, including going yard on all of his final eight swings.

“I was surprised, but I wasn’t complaining,” Dunand, 18, told the Miami Herald.

“I was just letting it happen. I was seeing the ball very well. I just hit it and it kept going every time.”

Dunand, who has committed to play collegiate ball at N.C. State, was named the MVP before the tournament even ended.

“It’s the most unbelievable thing,” said Javier Rodriguez, Dunand’s coach at Gulliver.

“I’ve never seen anything like that. It looked like a video game at one point. It didn’t matter what they were trying to throw at him, everything was gone.”
