Aaron Boone pulled Luke Voit after the first baseman walked to lead off the seventh inning of the Yankees’ Wild Card Series-clinching win over the Indians Wednesday night — and not because of Voit’s foot injury.

“Luke was not happy coming out of the game, understandably,’’ Boone said of Voit, who had stumbled before being tagged out between third base and home on a play in the fifth.

Boone said he “took a couple of pitches [during Giancarlo Stanton’s at-bat] to think about it,’’ aware that Voit’s spot in the order would come up again.

But with a two-run lead, Boone valued Tyler Wade’s speed on the bases and his defense in the late innings, so Wade went to second base, with DJ LeMahieu moving to first.

The move did not work out, as the Yankees gave up the lead in the bottom of the inning and Boone was forced to pinch-hit for Wade in the eighth.

“It had nothing to do with [the play in the fifth],’’ Boone said Thursday from Progressive Field in Cleveland, where the Yankees worked out before heading to San Diego for the neutral-site ALDS.

The manager also said he wrestled with another decision that backfired, when he had Masahiro Tanaka start the bottom of the fifth against the top of Cleveland’s order after throwing 70 pitches and sitting through a pair of rain delays.

“I really considered not sending [Tanaka] out for the fifth, with as long as the night was,’’ Boone said. “The first two guys [Francisco Lindor and Cesar Hernandez] got on against him.”

The move came after Tanaka cruised through the fourth, when Boone thought the right-hander had gotten into a good rhythm.

“I felt like it would be difficult for us to string that [win] together from the fifth inning with the guys we wanted [out of the bullpen] with the lead. In hindsight, I second-guess that move a little bit.”

Chad Green came on and immediately allowed a game-tying two-run double to Jose Ramirez to start a rough night for the Yankees’ relief corps before Aroldis Chapman saved the game with two scoreless innings, while Adam Ottavino wasn’t used.
