Yankees fans may have enjoyed grabbing a big early lead against the pitiful Royals, but there was a red flag. A big one.

Aaron Judge was yanked from the game for a pinch hitter in the fourth after he had been hit by a pitch on the right wrist in the first inning.

The team announced that Judge was examined by team physician Dr. Chris Ahmad and taken to New York Presbyterian Hospital for an MRI exam.

Judge was plunked by Royals starter Jakob Junis.

Judge shook his right hand as he proceeded to first and immediately was examined by the team athletic trainer Steve Donohue.

Judge, serving as the designated hitter, remained in the game – temporarily. He had an infield hit in the third then was lifted the following inning in favor of Miguel Andujar.
