ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — Aaron Judge’s return to the Yankees’ lineup lasted one game.

The right fielder was scratched shortly before Wednesday’s game against the Rays. He was replaced by Estevan Florial. No reason for the move was immediately given. He didn’t take batting practice on the field prior to the game.

Sources said the move is not related to a trade with the deadline on Friday.

Judge missed nine games while on the COVID-19 IL, one of six Yankees players to land on the COVID IL this month.

He started in right field in Tuesday’s 4-3 win over the Rays and went 1-for-4 with a hit by pitch.

Judge has not spoken with the media since returning from the IL.
