Aaron Judge’s body made a crash that his bat hasn’t been able to.
The struggling Yankees right fielder made an outstanding catch in the fourth inning of Monday’s Game 3 of the ALCS, slamming against the wall and holding on and going down — and getting up slowly, his left shoulder a concern.
With no outs and CC Sabathia dealing, Yuli Gurriel went opposite field, sending a shot to the wall that Judge tracked down in stride. He avoided smashing head-first into the wall, but his shoulder took the hit — the same left shoulder that has been wrapped in ice in postgame locker rooms. Judge has been silent with a bat in the series, and his shoulder bears watching.
After Judge made the catch, the Stadium erupted in cheers of, “MVP!”
