Not only will fans be facing the prospect of inclement weather for Opening Day in The Bronx on Monday, they also will be dealing with increased security.

The Yankees are encouraging fans to get to the stadium early for the scheduled 1:05 p.m. start against Houston.

Gates and security checkpoints will open at 11 a.m., and because of a new Major League Baseball mandate, “additional, enhanced security measures will be in place at all gates.”

Rain is expected throughout the morning and afternoon. If the game is postponed, it will be made up at 1 p.m. Tuesday.
