After a rough beginning to the season with Triple-A Scarnton/Wilkes Barre, right-handed reliever J.B. Cox has found himself demoted to Double-A Trenton in the wake of trips to the disabled list for pitchers Christian Garcia and Alan Horne. Cox went 0-1 with a 7.08 ERA through 12 appearances (and 20.1 innings) with Scranton/Wilkes Barre this season. He allowed 18 runs (16 earned) on 29 hits, striking out 11 and walking nine.

Cox hasn’t made an appearance since May 25, when he was lit up for five earned runs on six hits and two walks in 2.1 innings at Syracuse. Last season Cox was 5-4 with a 4.07 ERA in 48.2 innings over 39 appearances between High-A Tampa, Trenton and Scranton/Wilkes Barre.
