Mets.com reports former infielder Edgardo Alfonzo will resume his career in Japan with the Yomuri Giants. “It’s an honor to become a member of the Giants and I’ll play my hardest to contribute to the team,” Alfonzo is quoted in reports out of Japan. Alfonzo played eight seasons with the Mets, including on the 2000 NL champions. He last played in the majors in 2006 with the Blue Jays.
