According to my sources, Jacob deGrom is not human.
I was there Friday night and 8,000-plus fans made it feel like a playoff atmosphere with MVP chants galore. DeGrom was striking out every Nationals hitter in sight, finishing with 15 punch-outs. He was getting it done for himself at the plate and doing it in the eighth spot in the lineup. Is there anything the two-time Cy Young Award winner can’t do? He’s reaching the level of being in the conversation of the greatest pitcher ever.
