In a minor deal, the Mets reacquired outfielder Chip Ambres from the Red Sox today and immediately assigned him to Triple-A Buffalo. Ambres was a free-agent signee by the Mets in 2007 and spent that season at Triple-A New Orleans except for three games with the big-league club.
