Taylor Ward may have to find a way to get his grandmothers to more Angels games.
The outfielder smacked his 17th home run of the season on Thursday, and the long ball came right as Bally Sports’ Erica Weston was interviewing his 95-year-old grandmother, Faye.
“Oh, that’s so good, so good, yes!” Faye said as the ball cleared the center field fence at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg. “Maybe we brought him a little luck.”

Although the Angels suffered an 8-3 loss to the Rays, it provided a great moment for Ward’s paternal grandmother Faye, his maternal grandmother Betty, dad Joe, wife Taylor, and his brother and his wife.
“I mean, it’s amazing,” Ward said when he was told about the viral home-run moment. “I can’t remember how many years it’s been since she got a chance to see me play. It’s a great moment for me. I’m just super happy she was able to see it.”
