Trenton’s Collin Curtis, whose home run of Binghamton’s Robert Parnell in the third inning proved to be the difference in the game. Parnell threw 3.2 innings in the loss, allowing two runs on five hits, while striking out four and walking two.
Curtis was helped on offense by P.J. Pilittre, who went 2-for-3 with a RBI, while Ramiro Pena went 2-for-2 with a stolen base.

Cold bats doom St. Lucie
Lucas Duda went 1-for-4 with a double and St. Lucie’s lone RBI in the Mets’ 2-1 loss to Jupiter yesterday.
While Duda’s RBI double, at the time, seemed like a good omen, considering it came in the top of the first inning, it proved to basically be the end of St. Lucie’s offense for the day. The other St. Lucie position player with a solid day at the plate was Jason Jacobs, who finished the day 2-for-3.
Dillon Gee made his season debut on the mound for St. Lucie, going five innings and allowing one run on three hits, striking out six and walking one. Garry Bakker allowed a run on three hits over two innings in relief to pick up the loss, while Stephen Clyne added a scoreless inning of his own.

On the mound, Jairo Heredia started the game, giving up two runs on three hits over four innings. He also racked up seven strikeouts and allowed two walks. Jason Stephens pitched two innings to pick up the win, while Jonathan Ortiz pitched the seventh to earn the save.
Thanks to a nine-run fifth inning and a four-run seventh, the Charleston RiverDogs cruised to a big win in the second game.
