Freddy Garcia made his Buffalo Bisons debut yesterday, and while he was solid, it wasn’t enough to give the Scranton/Wilkes Barre Yankees their second straight loss. The Scranton Times-Tribune’s Chad Jennings has the details here from SWB’s 6-1 win over Buffalo, in which Phil Hughes had another quality start – and may have set himself up to take over for Chien-Ming Wang the next time his spot comes up in the rotation.

The Binghamton Mets completed a three-game sweep of the Trenton Thunder with a 4-3 win, as my friend Brian Moritz writes here.

Jeremy Bleich continued his nice start to the season for High-A Tampa, allowing one run in five innings, but Brevard County still came away with a 5-4 victory.

It was one-way traffic in Jupiter, Fla., as the St. Lucie Mets were held to two hits and their pitching staff allowed 11 runs on their way to an 11-0 loss.

Melky Mesa slammed two home runs for Low-A Charleston, and the RiverDogs cruised to a 13-2 win over Augusta.

Wilmer Flores continued his blistering start to the season, going 2-for-4 with an RBI and leading Savannah to a 4-2 win over Rome.
