PHILADELPHIA — Noah Syndergaard’s first World Series start since 2015 will have to wait.

The former Mets right-hander was scheduled to start Game 3 for the Phillies on Monday night against the Astros at Citizens Bank Park, but the game was postponed until Tuesday due to rain.

Ranger Suarez will now start Tuesday’s Game 3, with Aaron Nola going in Game 4 and Syndergaard in Game 5 — if he’s not needed out of the bullpen before then, Phillies manager Rob Thomson announced following the rainout.

Another former Met, Zack Wheeler, will likely start Game 6, if necessary, with Thomson saying he’d get extra rest to help with the fatigue that’s resulted in a drop in velocity.

“He’s fine,” Thomson said of Wheeler. “It’s just, it’s late in the season, velocity’s dropped a little bit, he’s fatigued. I just feel like he needs more time.”

Houston manager Dusty Baker said the Astros would stick with Lance McCullers Jr. in Game 3, Cristian Javier in Game 4 and Justin Verlander in Game 5.

The change in schedule also means the next three games will be played in Philadelphia on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, with a travel day on Friday and potential Games 6 and 7 in Houston on Saturday and Sunday.
