Slow day Wednesday. Turned to the TV for action and watched Stage 85 of the Tour de France, found out the FDA approved a sixth booster shot and every morning show tried to convince me that Kraft mac-and-cheese ice cream was worth a shot. Needless to say, it’s good to get back to baseball.
There is one game on the schedule, however, and I’m not married to it. The Red Sox invade The Bronx. Can anybody out there (that includes you, New Englanders) honestly say they predicted the Bosox would be at the top in the AL East at the break? Thought so. As good as the Red Sox have been, Eduardo Rodriguez (6-5, ERA 5.52) hasn’t been one of the reasons. He is a so-so starter on a so-so staff (with the exception of Nathan Eovaldi … maybe). But these guys hit. Combine that with the fact Rodriguez limited the troubled Yankees to two runs over six strong at Fenway on June 27, and we will back the Red Sox for 10 units.
Didn’t bet Stage 85 of the Tour de France. Rolling into the second half of the season at -812 garciaparras.
