Vitals: 23 years old (turns 24 Aug. 25); 6-foot-1 and 200 pounds; both hits and throws right-handed; drafted by the Yankees in the fourth round of the 2009 draft out of North Carolina; right-handed pitcher; ranked 26th on this list a year ago.
Performance: After a dominant debut with the Staten Island Yankees after the Yankees drafted him in 2009, Warren put in another strong performance in his first full minor league season last season. Warren went 7-2 with a 2.22 ERA in 15 starts for High-A Tampa, striking out 67 and walking 17 in 81 innings. That performance put him in a line for a promotion to Double-A Trenton, where he went 4-2 with a 3.15 ERA in 10 starts, striking out 59 and walking 16 in 54 innings.
Outlook: Warren has been excellent since he broke onto the scene, allowing him to work his way into the conversation with Manny Banuelos, Dellin Betances, Andrew Brackman, Hector Noesi and Ivan Nova as possibilities for the future. Warren will get a chance to continue his excellent beginning to his professional career back with Trenton to start 2011.
