Vitals: 23 years old (turns 24 on June 19); 6-foot, 185 pounds; both hits and throws right-handed; drafted by the Yankees in the eighth round of the 2008 draft out of Bradley; wasn’t ranked on last year’s list.

Performance: After performing well as a corner outfielder in his first two years in professional ball, Brewer went from a fringe prospect at best to a legitimate one with his performance in center for Double-A Trenton in 2010. Brewer hit .270 with 10 homers and 84 RBI in 508 at-bats for Trenton, scoring 83 runs, hitting 34 doubles and stealing 29 bases in 39 attempts.

Outlook: Brewer still project as a player that will start for the Yankees in the outfield down the road, but he has turned himself into someone that could be a useful piece in a trade down the road, if he isn’t used as the fourth outfielder for the Yankees that he probably projects to right now. He’ll get a chance to prove his doubters wrong with Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes Barre this year.
