Vitals: 25 years old (turns 26 on June 30); 6-foot-1, 180 pounds; hits right-handed, throws both left-handed and right-handed; drafted in the 20th round out of Creighton in 2008; wasn’t ranked last year.

Performance: Venditte, who has been a phenomenon ever since the Yankees drafted him because of his ability to “switch-pitch”, has been stellar at every level for the Yankees since he turned pro in 2008. After posting a 1.71 ERA in 41 appearances with High-A Tampa – with 85 strikeouts and 14 walks in 73 innings – the Yankees finally gave Venditte a promotion at the end of last season to Double-A Trenton, where he made two appearances.

Outlook: You could argue that the number of talented arms in the Yankees farm system hasn’t affected anyone as much as Venditte, who, despite his obvious sucess at every level, has barely pitched in Double-A after two-and-a-half healthy years as a pro. He will get his chance to prove himself with Trenton this year, though, and if he performs anywhere near the level he has up until now, he should get a shot at Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes Barre, as well.
