SAN FRANCISCO — With Jose Reyes out of the starting lineup for another game, the Mets tonight will bat Ruben Tejada leadoff and Jason Bay second against the Giants.

Neither Tejada nor Bay has batted in that position this season. In a career of 4,258 plate appearances, Bay has five batting second.

With lefty Barry Zito starting for the Giants, Jeff Francoeur returns to right field and Angel Pagan will begin the game on the bench.

Reyes remains sidelined with an oblique injury.
