From MIKE PUMA

Carlos Beltran isn’t gunning for 100 percent with his right knee, just enough spring in his step for a return to the lineup.

The injured center fielder said he’s on track for a return from the disabled list within the next 2-to-2½ weeks, as he continues to deal with a bone bruise.

“That’s what I have in mind and that’s my goal,” Beltran said as the Mets prepared to face the Rockies at Citi Field. Beltran has been taking batting practice, but has not begun running. He said running in the outfield will tell him when he’s ready to play.

“Being able to come back 100 percent is not going to happen,” said Beltran, who was placed on the DL on June 22. “Eighty, 85 percent, I’ll take that. I feel I can manage myself like that — that is fine with me. Hopefully I can get back soon.”
