More potential bad news for the Mets: Carlos Beltran was removed after the fifth inning of tonight’s game against the Brewers with “right knee discomfort,” according to the Mets. He will be further evaluated by team doctors.
That’s the same knee that the center fielder had surgery on in January and cost him much of this season.
Beltran, still wearing a brace on the knee, had his best game since his return on Sunday, when he homered from both sides of the plate in Sunday’s 7-3 win in Philadelphia.
Before leaving tonight’s game, Beltran struck out in the first and reached on an error by Milwaukee third baseman Casey McGehee.
