ATLANTA — As expected, the Mets called up newly signed infielder Angel Berroa today to take the roster spot of fellow backup infielder Argenis Reyes.

Reyes had been demoted to Triple-A Buffalo on Sunday. Berroa, the 2003 AL Rookie of the Year with the Royals, was added last weekend after his June release by the Yankees, with whom he hit just .136.
