The Yankees’ top draft pick to sign from the 2008 First-Year Player Draft, left-hander Jeremy Bleich, was named to the Hawaiian Winter League’s All-League Team after helping the Waikiki BeachBoys win the league championship.
Bleich, a supplemental first-round pick from Stanford, went 3-2 with a 1.77 ERA – good for fifth in the HWL. He was second in innings with 35.2, struck out 33 and walked 12.
No other players from the Mets and Yankees were named to the team.
