The Blue Jays came out swinging early in a historic World Series Game 5 statement.

Two batters into the game, Toronto took a 2-0 lead after clubbing back-to-back homers off Dodgers starter Blake Snell. The Blue Jays never looked back in their 6-1 win as they moved one victory away from clinching the Fall Classic.

Leadoff man Davis Schneider turned on the first pitch of the game — a 96.6 mph fastball — out of the reach of left fielder Alex Call and over the wall.

Two pitches later, Vladimir Guerrero Jr. belted a low-and-in fastball 394 feet to left field.

Guerrero, one of the Blue Jays’ heroes in this postseason, now has eight home runs in the playoffs after going deep in consecutive games.

Snell, meanwhile, threw 20 straight breaking balls and changeups after giving up the two longballs on fastballs, the first time in his career he game up two homers in the opening frame of a game, per Sarah Langs.
