Will Middlebrooks finally has something to celebrate this season.
The Red Sox third baseman, who hit .197 in 21 games this season before being sidelined by a finger injury, got engaged to former NESN reporter Jenny Dell Monday night, surprising her with a party attended by family and friends.
Dell currently works as a sideline reporter for the NFL on CBS, but spent the previous two seasons with the Red Sox.
The couple went public with their relationship by posting a picture together on New Year’s Eve. It is believed Dell was not asked to return to NESN because of a conflict of interest due to her relationship with Middlebrooks.
