Luis Rojas was monitoring Brandon Nimmo’s at-bats Friday night to see how his hip was doing.

A two-run single, a double off the wall and a two-run home run told the manager all he needed to know.

“Seems like he’s OK,” Rojas quipped after the Mets’ 6-0 win over the Nationals at Citi Field.

Back atop the starting lineup for the first time since Tuesday, after a stiff hip had held him out, Nimmo went 3-for-5 with four RBIs and two runs scored to make sure Jacob deGrom had plenty of run support in his complete game gem.

“I was able to contribute there and that was nice,” said Nimmo, who ran through pregame tests to make sure he could return to the lineup. “The hip is doing better. I wouldn’t say it’s 100 percent better, no problems whatsoever, but the training staff has been able to help me alleviate a lot of the discomfort.”

The Mets optioned left-hander Joey Lucchesi to the alternate site Friday, a day after he gave up three runs in a three-inning start against the Cubs. The Mets, who have two off-days next week, won’t need a fifth starter until May 4, at which point Lucchesi could be recalled, or Carlos Carrasco might be ready to return from his hamstring injury.

“I think he’s done well coming up here,” acting general manager Zack Scott said of Lucchesi, who has given up six runs in eight innings across three appearances. “Joey’s going to be back, he’s going to help us, no doubt.

Keeping him stretched out, whether for a starting role down the road or a long relief role, that’s definitely part of it.”

Carrasco, who is working his way back from a torn hamstring, is scheduled to make his latest rehab start Saturday in Port St. Lucie. The first week of May will be six weeks since he sustained the injury.

“I know he’s been progressing well,” Scott said. “I’m not going to put a date on it, because you gotta take it one day at a time, and especially when it’s an outing, see how the guy feels the next day and how that recovery is as he gets into his routine.”

Stephen Tarpley was recalled to take Lucchesi’s roster spot with a fresh bullpen arm.

A pair of other rehabbing pitchers remain on track in their rehab, according to Scott. Noah Syndergaard (Tommy John surgery) is still targeted for a June return while the Mets are hoping reliever Seth Lugo (elbow surgery to remove a bone spur) will be back sometime in May. Lugo has recently begun throwing off the mound, with his next step facing live hitters.
