ATLANTA — The Braves switched course with their pitchers again today, preserving Sunday’s much-anticipated showdown here between Johan Santana and John Smoltz.
Atlanta manager Bobby Cox had announced after Friday’s rainout that Tom Glavine would have his start pushed back to Sunday, replacing Smoltz.
But with the Braves set to visit the Rockies next, Cox decided today that he didn’t want Smoltz exposing his shoulder to the Colorado elements.
