Here are some nuggets from Mets’ spring training on Saturday:

Going Baty

Brett Baty reached base in all four plate appearances (two singles and two walks), raising his Grapefruit League on-base percentage to .552.

The third-base prospect also stole his second base of the spring during a 10-7 loss to the Nationals at the Ballpark of the Palm Beaches.

Record Scratch

Non-roster invitee DJ Stewart, playing left field, misplayed a line drive driven toward him into an RBI double.

Stewart originally broke in, and the ball struck by Leonel Valera sailed over his head.

Caught my eye

A strange scene developed in the top of the fifth inning with the bases loaded and Daniel Vogelbach on second.

Washington third baseman Ildemaro Vargas and Mets third-base coach Joey Cora appeared to have words for each other.

Vogelbach somehow joined the verbal fight and jawed with Vargas as some players and both teams’ managers wandered over.

“Just chatting about something in the game,” manager Buck Showalter said. “This happens playing a 7 o’clock game in spring training and everyone’s sunburned. You get a little edgy.”

Sunday’s schedule

Brandon Nimmo is expected to make his Grapefruit League debut at 1:10 p.m. against the Rays at Clover Park.
