That’s a clown pronunciation, bro.
Nationals slugger Bryce Harper, fresh off being named the National League MVP on Thursday evening, fielded a seemingly innocuous questions from anchor Scott Van Pelt during an interview on ESPN’s “SportsCenter”:
Would you rather be bald or unable to hit more than 10 home runs per season?
Harper, with his luscious locks mounted proudly atop his head, began a diplomatic answer: “I don’t even want to answer that right now, because I know how many memes are going to be out there of me with a bald head.”
Except he pronounced memes (rhymes with beams) as meh-mays, like it was French or something.
Now Harper’s very fear has come true: His novel pronunciation has become a meme.
