Some Yankees fan out there is very happy right now because he knows Bryce Harper is coming to the Yankees.
How does he know? Bryce Harper told him so. Or at least, that’s what he thinks.
Pirates pitcher Trevor Williams was out to dinner Thursday night and the server apparently mistook him for Harper. You can judge for yourself the resemblance between the 26-year-old righty and potentially $300 million man.
Sensing an opportunity for some fun, Williams told the server he was signing with the Yankees, getting the apparent Bronx native excited at the prospect.
Williams told the whole story on Twitter.
“Our waiter tonight thought I was Bryce Harper so of course I played along and told him I was signing with the Yankees,” Williams wrote. “He was very happy because he was from the Bronx.”
Williams didn’t reveal what restaurant he was eating in, but that server’s friends are probably feeling quite disappointed right now.
