This is a new one — using video games to promote free agency.
Bryce Harper appears on the cover of “MLB The Show ’19,” but without a uniform.
“Honored to be selected as the #PlayStationAmbassador for #TheShow19 cover! Follow @MLBTheShow this offseason to see what uniform I will be wearing on the final cover!” the superstar tweeted.
Harper spent the first seven seasons of his career with the Nationals, but there does not appear to be a frontrunner to sign the star outfielder as he enters unrestricted free agency for the first time. Harper, who turned 26 last month, is the prize of a highly touted free-agency class with players able to reach agreements after 11:59 p.m. Friday.
Maybe he’ll break the news by donning a jersey on the cover of “MLB The Show.”
