MLB.com reports Blue Jays pitcher A.J. Burnett wil opt out of the remaining two years of his contract and become a free agent.

The Web site rpoerts Burnett’s agent confirmed the pitcher will walk away from the $24 million he was scheduled to make over the next two seasons.

Along with CC Sabathia, Burnett is one of the top pitchers available and certainly of interest to the Yankees.
